Re: [APML] Carl Zeiss 300mm f/4 lens for 35mm or Pentax67 cameras?

Hi Bert,

no problem - I am happy to answer your questions (I am asking so many questions
to the list so I am happy if I also can answer some every once in a while :-))

Well, this is a tough one - the Eastern Carl Zeiss lenses, especially the Sonnar
300 mm f/4 have a very good name over here in Germany, they are of good quality,
but way less pricey than the Western Carl Zeiss lenses. If you want to get an
impression of what this lens can do with TP take a look at:

This is a page from Michael Breite (also on APML) showing some outstanding
results with this 300mm zeiss lens.

Sorry, forgot about the fact that T adapter is called T2 over here in Germany!
The adapter for the Sonnar is female (on the side to the Medium format camera
and has a male ending on the side to the 35mm camera (Nikon or more precise T
adapter). These adapters are made by several companies (sorry don't know the
names) - mine was supplied with the Sonnar. They are selling them for DEM 69.-
(~30 bucks) on e-Bay over here in Germany. I am quite sure that some
Photodealers in Germany also have them in stock.

If I can support you with the purchase of the lens (maybe over here in Germany -
because cheaper) or the adapter, please let me know. It would be no problem at
all to get you one of these babies!

Clear Skies,
Aike
