RE: [APML] OT: A New M101, and a few others

Hi Rob,

Those are really nice shots. Since I had the Hubble shot of M104 as my desktop background picture for a while, I can't help but compare that shot with yours and Jim's. Besides the obvious differences in the amount of detail (albeit less than I expected), I notice that your shot is warmer than that of Hubble's. That is, your white balance leans more towards the red (or, Hubble's leans more towards the blue).

Check out http://imgsrc.hubblesite.org/hu/db/2003/28/images/a/formats/1280_wallpaper.jpg

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Group,

I haven't had much to post lately but here's a new image of M101.
Its the result of 9 hours of exposure with the 12.5" RC and STL11000.

Also a few new collaboration images by me and Jim. M95 at the bottom is a
redo as I just got a new monitor. The old monitor was so dim I was having a
hard time with color and backgrounds.
