[APML] Teleconverters for AP instead of Barlow

After reading this post I'm intriged of how good or bad could be the performance of a Teleconverter in prime focus with a Meade SCT 10" instead of using a Barlow?

Thanks for the info Kent!  Just checked them out at B&H and, while not cheap, they are definitely cheaper than that beautiful 200mm f/2 EDIF lens is at $1800.00!!  OOOH, I wish!

Gary:
I have found that Nikon's teleconverter's are excellent and it is very difficult to tell the difference between the quality of an image done with the prime lens and the image done with the teleconverter.
I've used my 300mm f2.8 ED with the TC301 (2x) and TC14B (1.4x) with excellent results.
Nikon's teleconverters are made for specific focal length ranges and should be used as such.

My guess is that the newer Nikon and Canon converters will be be same.
