Re: [APML] OT: Fun With Satellites [was: California Desert Night Sky]
I dun'no Chris,
That original jpeg I hunted down was maybe 4 times better resolution, and
that "complex" to the due west covers around 20 full acres.
Searching around on that satellite website made me realize how vast those
desert lands really are and there are currently many properties for sale
(probably blazing summer heat at them too!) on all the on-line
"Multi-Listing Real Estate" sites.
I don't figure I'm loosing out too bad if I pass that particular property
up. I have about 4 pictures of it, and really, it was believe it or not,
the kitchen which was really nice! The problem with anything more toward
Tucson though is I figure the landing path into Tucson International
Airport. I don't want to catch planes all night! Closer to Southern
California I figure Phoenix will provide a very bright glow. And up north
is more expensive i.e. more temperate I guess.
The Southern California market may finally be cooling down a bit too.
Man, real estate prices have gone completely NUTS out here. I still think
what goes up must come down. And I just may grab some acreage then. If the
stock market (DOW) finally really breaks free of the long standing 10,000
plateau and forcefully too, as I expect it must eventually, and interest
rates continue to rise (which they will) I figure real estate
investors/speculators will dump properties while they still can and for
higher returns, and at the same time people who over-bought on ARM's will
begin going broke under their rising mortgage payments. And then Voila!
Gee, is "Astrophotography Specific" real estate really on-topic after all?
Jim
(But like I say, I dun'no)
