No Ray, I didn't see any webbing at all.  It was crawling around on a piece of wood.  After reading about chiggers I have to agree with you and Wade, I think it's too big for a chigger and the body and legs don't correspond to the pictures I saw of a chigger.

Sorry Folks,
Don't want to step on toes here but being from Chigger Country(South Mississippi), Chiggerville, for short. If that is a chigger we are going to have to rename a species. Did you see any webbing around the area of this brute? If so it is likely of the spider mite variety, though I am not sure.
