Re: [APML] OT: Digital camera compatibility with old Nikon lenses

Hi Robert and Stuart

Many thanks for your help - this is very interesting feedback. I found
another source for the Nikon lens to EOS adapter:
http://www.araxfoto.com/accessories/nikeos/

And there are also instructions on how to make a home made one:
http://www.astrosurf.org/buil/adapter/ring.htm

The Novoflex may offer the best option mechanically, though the Araxfoto
one looks pretty good. Anyone used this?

On the subject of IR filter removal there are some excellent resources. I
found the following for the 300D which seems so invasive as to be almost
frightening - I think this guy deserves a medal! :)
http://ghonis2.ho8.com/rebelmod.html

The procedure for the D70 looks as though it may be a little easier:
http://www.astrosurf.org/buil/d70/ircut.htm

And thanks for clarifying the issue with RAW frames which I agree is quite
important for astrophotography but probably not an issue for conventional
photography. There's a review of the D70 v the EOS 10D for
astrophotography here:
http://www.astrosurf.org/buil/d70v10d/eval.htm

If someone could send me details of a digital camera forum (for
astrophotography) I promise I won't lose it this time! :)
