Well...
For now, I'll assume these images will be displayed via an LCD projector. If so, the majority of these projectors display at 1024x768... some older/less expensive models display at 800x600... the big boyz show at 1280x1024!
You should find out what the display properties of the projection device being used is, and resize accordingly. sRGB is most likely the best color space to use for such a presentation. JPEG files are good for this as well.
You might even lower the DPI to about 300 before saving to disk, to further save file space. I guess you'll hold out for Jerry to respond... I don't fault you for that !!!
