Hey Alan...
How youse been ?!? I've found it best to do as much as possible in 48 bits (16/channel)... this includes resizing for web display.
My strategy is as follows... after the full-res file is maxed out with major processing, while still in 48 bit mode, in PS go: 'Image --> Image Size... ' and select the desired pixel dimensions for Web display.
Next, I convert to sRGB color space... again, in 48 bit mode... then convert to 24 bit and finally 'Save As' JPEG with applicable quality selection.
This always yields best results on my screen... either using Photoshop or Picture Window.
