Of course, I agree. You mentioned using Epson profiles, so that's why I
suggested trying it the other way.

Right. And that may be the problem, and it's why I said use assign profile
and not convert to profile. Absent any color space information, Photoshop
defaults to your working color space and would make a profile conversion
that assumes your image was created in your working color space. Very
likely, though, the image is in some other color space (you may want to
check with Kodak on this - maybe they have the color profile for their
picture CD's). So, just use assign profile, which does not alter the image
data, but it does give PS some reference to use for color conversions. At
least it's worth a try. If you find a profile from Kodak, then of course
that would be the one to assign to the image.

My pleasure. I've had these kind of problems in the past and I know how
nuts they can make you. Trust me, though. When you get it working it will
be worth it. It took me awhile to get there, but my prints now match my
screen (within the limits of transmissive vs. reflective rendition). And
using PS's softproofing feature, I can really zero in on the type of print I
am going to achieve.
Anyway, I hope assign profile works - either with a Kodak profile (if you
can get one) or sRGB or Adobe 1998.
I'm running out of ideas :-)
