[APML] OT: printing with icc profiles from Adobe PS 6.0 to epson2200p

I'm having trouble using icc profiles to print with Adobe Photoshop 6.0 to
my Epson 2200p color printer. (Windows XP)

It works fine when I use "printer color management" on the print 2200 print
menu.  But this uses a fixed set of icc profiles for epson paper.  I want to
use custom icc profiles for non-epson paper.  I recently purchased the
Monaco EZ color to create the custom profiles, but this is not my question.

The problem comes when I try to set the printer to use a custom icc profile.
There is a specific reference in the Epson manual (pg. 51)  for using custom
profiles from photoshop.  Quoting:

File > Print
select Source space
select Print space - select your custom printer profile
click advanced
click ICM, then NO COLOR ADJUSTMENT

When I do this, (selecting the EPSON prem glossy ICC, which is a built in
ICC profile, and when using that paper) I get obviously purple prints.  This
compares to very good (not perfect) color when using "printer color
management", ICC/with color adjustment.

My problem is I can't figure out how to apply an external ICC profile via
photoshop.

Any suggestions?
