| The conditions for us were very good, but I think this was because
special
| arrangement were made for us through the Astronomical League. There
is a
| very nice museum on the hotel's grounds and they had several side
trips
| arranged to see the areas of cultural and scenic interest in this
part of
| Bolivia.  Evidently, there are months in Bolivia that have poor
weather and
| should be avoided.  Also, the latitude is rather low and I had to
have
| Astro-Physics Inc. make a reverse wedge for my AP900 mount in order
to polar
| align.  This is not the case in northern Chile (I was there in
February)
| where the weather and latitude are better, especially in the
"southern
| summer". When I was there I stayed at the Carnegie Las Campanas
Observatory.
