Larry,

My wife and I stayed at an Inn (I can't remember the name of it but
maybe someone on the list can fill it in) at Lake Titicaca in Bolivia.
I believe they even have a Starmaster there!  I think they are no
strangers to "astro-types" but I can't say they necessarily cater to
astronomers.

What ever, the skies were clear and dark (some time ago now) and it
was beautiful.  I think it was at about 12,000 feet!
