I have one, but have not been able to test its deep sky capabilities
yet. Someone on DPReview posted some galaxy and nebula images, and it
appears that the D70 is weak at H-alpha. On the positive side, the
autofocus sensor is sensitive enough to indicate focus with my f/6.8
telescope when aimed at a star or planet. It struggles to indicate
proper focus when aimed at the edge of the moon or sun. I may have to
leave out my field flattener and operate my telescope at f/6.5 to get a
more reliable focus on the sun and moon -- I'll have to figure this out
before the Venus transit on June 8. Below are some cropped early
attempts that are a bit soft:

Below are links to some early, but flawed looks at the camera's spatial
structure of noise under auto mode in cloudy conditions. I'll redo
this test under more controlled conditions after Easter.
