RE: [APML] Kodak High Definition 400; results (not good)

I picked up a roll on Saturday to test when I get the time, but it looks
like you beat me to it. I was told by the salesperson at the photo shop
that it's really just repackaged (new) Royal Gold 400, which is corroborated
by your results. And looking at Kodak's website, the HD400 is shown on the
same page with only the (new) Royal Gold 200 alongside it. Ah, well...

I also noticed that the Supra line has been added to their "discontinued
films" list, allegedly replaced by Portra UC.

Anybody try the LE400 lately? This used to have a very good reputation...

I tested the new Kodak High Definition 400 speed film over the weekend.
Used a C8 with f/6.3 focal reducer; Pentax LX camera body (with
Magnaviewer).

M3: 30 minutes. Resolution was very good. A large area of the core was
overexposed, but I recorded more than I expected. Even an additional
5-minute exposure recorded more of the core than I expected.

NGC7000: 60 minutes. NO NEBULOSITY RECORDED. Star resolution was
excellent with minor halation.

Bottom line: I cannot recommend this film (even though I'm going to replace
my old M3 shot with this latest one).
