Alan: there is no shutdown procedure besides turning the power off. The
cooler is not regulated. Nothing magical happens if you leave it on for
some time after you finish guiding. The act of guiding doesn't do anything
special to the cooler. I've programmed the ST4 for CCDSoft and there is no
documented control for the cooler in stand-alone use or computer-controlled
use. The cooler is documented as being unregulated. I've had mine for 13
years, and I just turn it off when I am done.
