Dimitris,
Alignment can be done in Photoshop by stacking the
images and then moving them individually to line up,
using the stars as reference. However, this doesn't
work so well, because each photo differs slightly
(even if taken on the same night, with the same set
up) due to factors like temperature variation during
the exposure, or slight amounts of field rotation
resulting from polar alignment inaccuracies.
A better but more expensive solution is to purchase
Registar- the software is easy to use, and it works
great. If you are going to do lots of stacking (most
of us do), I highly recommend purchasing Registar.
