The mail reader is the resident software on the machine in most cases.
In the case of Yahoo or Hotmail the reader is actually your web browser.
I believe that buried somewhere in the user preferences for those two is
a feature that allows you to shut off html.
In your case it would be a setting in outlook express, just where it is
I can't remember as I use Netscape. Some of the linux and unix mail
readers do not support html and they get the gobledy-gook on their
screen. Same goes for the poor souls still using VMS.
