Re: [APML] Hutech 35mm Focuser

Focusing is very hard to accomplish accurately. Most people
underestimate the difficulty. It is virtuallly impossible to get a
really accurate focus by using a loupe or magnified on a screen, such as
a Nikon D screen. You can get close, but not close for really high
quality results, and this is especially true for a fast system.

The Hutech is, in my opinion, the greatest focusing aid ever invented.
Its a circular knife edge made by evaporating aluminum on glass so the
edge is very sharp and well defined. But the best part is that it
matters not a whit from what azimuth you "cut" the knife edge. This
takes most of the difficulty out of knife edge focusing. Since I
purchased the Hutech and carefully measured it with a high quality
micrometer to my particular camera, the focus has always been perfect.
