Normally I use "Lighten" as composite way so only the brighter part of the
image will actually merge over the longer exposure shot. Anyway the best way
is to experiment with different settings and sometimes I find useful apply a
first time the "diffused" image with a composite set and than stack again
the diffuse image (perhaps masked) with a different composite way (and
weight) until I get a pleasant result...
