Re: [APML] New SBIG Cameras



The link was first posted to the Yahoo SBIG group a few days ago. It's a huge chip, but as an ABG its peak QE is only 50% compared to the ST-10XME's 85%. Also, with a chip that size, other optical issues (vignetting, field curvature) may come into play for some scopes. A friend of mine who's building a 20" f/5 for astrometry says the 1001XE is the camera of his dreams, though.
