[APML] One more question: guiding w lens & CLA-7

Now that I think about it some more - for those of us who bought the
ST-7Ei, the one without the guiding chip, does it make sense that the
CLA-7 would allow me to use a medium telephoto lens as a guidescope?
Talk about lightening the load and simplifying focus! And, I would have
to buy a second refractor to use as a guidescope! I was shopping for a
small, inexpensive, refractor for use as a guidescope but in fact the
CLA-7 is cheaper and opens up all kinds of possibilities.

Is this too simple or am I thick and everyone else already knew  this?
