[APML] Computers and extra RAM

Hi all,

My apologies to those who'll get this twice.

Last night I ordered a computer from Gateway online. $200 off and free
shipping. I upgraded the hard drive to 160 gb, I didn't upgrade the RAM
because I'll add it myself (even I can do that) after it arrives. They
wanted $100 to move it from 256 to 512mb. Now to my question.

I have another $100 to upgrade the RAM. Prices here are: $20 for 256MB
chips and $80 for 512MB chips. These prices are after rebates. For the
price of a 512, I can get 3 more 256MB chips (I believe there are only
3 expansion slots), and have money left over. I've also heard that the
bigger MB chips are better.

What is your advice?
