Re: [APML] M13 - My first posted image to APML



I think I fixed the red cast in the sky background
(most of it, anyway). I also upped the color
saturation a notch to bring out the differences in
the star colors better.

I'm sure there is much more I could do to improve 
this. For instance, a friend suggested a technique of
blending {lighten) a slightly blurred copy to bring
out the fainter stars at the edge of the cluster, 
without the result looking too grainy (which is a
problem I'm having now when I try to adjust the
curves on all of my single exposures - I don't have
multiple shots of these objects yet). Is that the
best way to minimize grain or should I experiment
with something like SGBNR? And if I do use SGBNR,
when is the best time to apply it? Before all other
operations, before only certain operations or after
I do everything else?
