I have all Pentax cameras simply because the camera I already had when
I started was a Pentax. I subsquently bought a K1000 and a KX; the
latter has "real" mirror lock-up, the K1000 can be tricked into doing
a mirror pre-fire, but it takes some practice.

The 50mm f/2 SMC is okay, it needs to be shot no faster than f/4. The
50mm f/1.4 SMC is similarly okay, it can be shot at f/2.8 or f/3.6 (it
has half-stop clicks); there are some minor problems in the corners at
f/2.8. The 50mm f/2 has the advantage of being very common and cheap.
