The 6X7 film holder for the Nikon 8000 ED scanner has the same issues you're
describing with medium format material.  It's not a poor design really and
allows one to stretch the film somewhat, but if the negative/positive is
curled badly, it's difficult to get a scan focused evenly across the shot.
I haven't had any problem with the 35mm strip holder, this keeps the shots
flat fairly well.  I've ordered a 6X7 glass covered holder but these appear
to be difficult to obtain (and pricey - big surprise <g>) and don't know
when I may see it.

Stephen, I think what your saying to me is to mount them extremely flat for
the scanner to see an even surface.  I havent tried glass mounts for
instance.  Thanks.
