Comet Ikeya-Zhang makes close passes to both M13
and M92 in May and I want to get a good shot of both enounters. I'll be at
Pinos on the 10th and 11th. On one night I'm planning on
shooting E200 and one the other night trying Fuji Super HQ 100, (highly
recommended by Bob Fera). The comet's position on the 10th I think would
be more ideal and would like to know which of the two emulsions would be
better to shoot that night or if I should just flip a coin. The next night
I'll shoot the other. I'm planning on 15, 20, and 30 min shots and if the
comet hasn't moved much, I'd like to combine at least two of them, any
suggestions?
The link below is to an image I made using Guide 7
showing the position of the comet around midnight on the May 10, 11, and 14 and
has the 35mm field of my Megrez 80 at f/5 oriented how I'd like to frame the
shots. The results that weekend will determine the film I use on the 14th,
that's if I'm able to get out to shoot that night. Any misc. advice
for the shoot will be appreciated.
