thanks, the 5.5 inch schmidt has a sizable vignette but for comet shots thats
usually not a major concern. my 8 inch has a larger primary mirror - 9.25"
for an 8 inch corrector and vignetts alot less, but the comet was larger than
its 4.5x6.5 field. the 5.5 inch has a 7x9 degree field. perfect for
errant large comets.
That's a good one Chris! One of the best of the
season. Schmidts kick comet butt!

[APML] Comet IZ and NGC7380
This morning
was a spectacular event with the comet, the head passed right over the
emmission nebula NGC7380. Using my 5.5 inch schmidt camera, I was
able to get several rewarding images. I really like the E200 pushed 1
stop for comets, It really brings the contrast of the tail up.
