[APML] Photoshop tips
Here are some other photoshop tips I ran across on TechTV's website.
One problem I have had is visualizing uneven field illumination due to
the bright grey background of the canvas. The steps below show you how
to change the canvas color and the size of the work area.

Customizing the Full Screen Modes
As you undoubtedly know by now, you can cycle through Photoshop's screen
modes by pressing the F key. Pressing F once hides the standard window
elements-- scroll bars, title bar, status bar-- and shows the image
against a gray background. Press F again to hide the menu bar and make
the background black. Press F a third time to restore the image window
with scroll bars, menu bar, and the rest.
But there are two little-known techniques that involve the Shift key. To
change the gray area outside the image to some other color, Shift-click
in the gray area with the paint bucket tool. The next tip works only in
Photoshop 5: Press Shift-F to hide and display the menu bar, regardless
of the screen mode you're working in. This means any time the menu bar
disappears in Photoshop 5, you can bring it back by pressing Shift-F.
You never have to leave the full screen mode again.
