RE: [APML] More basic processing ?'s

Alan,

8 bits per channel is OK, with two exceptions, first If you scanning an
image, try for the scanners max of 12 bits per channel, the more data you
have to work with, the better the dynamic range of the image. This is
refered to as 36 bit color. The image will be in RGB format allready. You
only will need to convert to other formats if you do advanced color work. I
would avoid initially adjusting the levels on an individual color basis
until you get more familiar with the histogram control. You can do wierd
things to the color of an image if your not careful!

Subject: [APML] More basic processing ?'s

Hi all,

I can't believe I've been scared of Photoshop all this
time. It's a blast. Anyway, there's a couple of things
I need to get clarified. Here we go.

1. 8 bits per channel is checked now. Comments.

2. Should I be working in: RGB, CMYK, or LAB color?

3. Am I correct is adjusting the levels channels
individually?

Thanks,
Alan

P.S. Tony, you're right about curves, curves, curves.
