Chuck I like #2. My earlier suggestion this morning was to allow CCD topics
that are in some way relevant to film imaging. An excellent recent example
of this was Rob Gendeler's post that mentioned his LRGB technique and showed
some CCD images that were done like this. This is obviously a cross-over
technique and I've already done some film work with Rob's excellent
description of the technique.

That sounds good but I would go farther and say that "and presentation of
CCD images is acceptable if there is some relevant discussion about those
images and film imaging"
You CCD guys are doing great work. I hope you will continue to monitor this
list and post your expertise and images for us when it is relevant. Most of
use who are doing film work undoubtly have the perception that a lot of what
we do film-wise is probably headed the way of the dinosauer. But there are
still areas where film can compete and even outdo CCD imaging; mainly in
widefield work or special techniques like mosaicing. This may change in the
near future, or it may not. New films are getting us better results than we
got even 5 years ago and we can hopefully expect more of the same. At the
same time larger CCD chips are becoming availiable and good widefield CCD
images are becoming more common. So the two mediums will co-exist for at
least some time into the future. As has been pointed out, there are several
forums for CCD imaging. This is our only one we film guys have. Please
understand our need to keep the film discussion on focus for this list.
