I'm a newbie here, but I'll throw in my 2-cents anyway.

There is alread a usenet group, sci.astro.ccd-imaging for CCD imaging.
There is also alt.binaries.pictures.astro for just posting pretty
pictures.  I read both of those groups.  I also joined the QCUAIG
group for information on using my webcam and digital videocamera.  But
I joined this group in order to pick up tips related specifically to
film.  I don't have a problem with seeing other stuff here, but I'd
really prefer to see it dominated by film information.
