[APML] "look at my CCD image"

Hi Bobby, Joe, Loke,all

first thank you for "that's a great image" and "CCD-images are simply
amazing" !
I agree with you both ! I appriciate your (our) APML-list because it
is a
"film astro-imaging list".
All may life I did film-imaging, development, enlargement (since 1956
!) etc.
Since 1985 I re-began astrophotography. First 24x36 cm, than 6x6 cm
with Schmidtkamera and finally 6x7 with Pentax 67 and Astrophysics
130 mm f/6 plus flatfield-adapter (thanks Chris !!).
Since two years I work with my ST7. With only 1500 mm focus I could
obtain little fuzzy - objects, for example all hundred Hickson's
Compact Groups of Galaxies. You can't do this easily with "film
astro-imaging".
Surely this 100 Hickson' Groups aren't pretty pictures.
And now I saw all this pretty pictures (also with CCD) and first time
I tried a larger
galaxy (NGC 3628), long integration! I was astonished and proud! Woww!
I sent it to APML ... my second image (first was NGC 6781, 3 days ago)
... Boum !!!
Nevertheless I agree with you!
I will re-begin (for certain objects) with TP and E 200, I will
re-begin with hypering my films; I will evaluate my Astrophysics
Refractor with Pentax 67 + flatfield-adapter ...
... and profit more by my new installed dark-room!
One week ago I got my Millennium.Mount; it is strong enough to carry
my 8" Schmidt !!
For film and "quick Schmidt" I must be mobile because my backyard is
not dark enough (exposure only 4.5 min TP hyp. with Schmidt) ... one
reason
for CCD ! :-))
Excuse my english but I am german french-teacher ! I lost all my
english.

Best regards
Josef Mueller
