1. vignetting removal / flat fielding
2. levels adjustment. Don't clip off the shadows!!!
3. stacking
4. curves

you only asked for three but you'll need these 4 minimum to get the best out
of your astrophotos.  Then you could play with hue/saturation and then look
at some mild unsharp masks and some type of grain reduction. (the list can
go farther <g>)
