Yes many of the faint dots seem to be background galaxies, but some are 
probably faint stars. I compared my image with the wonderfull image from 
Philipp Keller (www.astrooptik.com) and found that some of the dots must be 
faint stars while others are galaxies.
How deep I get is probably very much depending on sky transparency. Over 
the last few days we had a high pressure system with dry winds from Russia 
here over central Europe which is very unusual for that time of year. 
Therefore I had very good transparency.
