Hi Jim:
My approach, based on the advice of someone on this list, is to size all my
JPG  images for the website (using PhotoShop) to either 750 pixels wide (if
landscape format) or 550 pixels high (if portrait format). I ignore the
resolution and actual inches dimensions and it always displays correctly. If
you want to put up a high resolution shot (for users to download) but force
it to fit the screen, there is another way of doing it that Jerry Lodriguss
recently described here on the list.
