My experience so far is the time
spent in CCD vs. film is about the same if you, like me, take lots of
negatives to combine.
The one HUGE advantage of a CCD is that I can
program the computer to shoot for three hours worth of shots and go take a nice,
long nap... the older I get, the harder staying awake all night is becoming... a
run of clear nights with film would leave me mentally and physically exhausted,
with the CCD it is almost fun... almost...
