Yes indeed.  I got a message from Symantec a while back that my subscription
had expired and I renewed it and have received updates since then.

Well, the bottom line is I think we have used enough bandwidth here on a OT
problem (although a healthy computer is now a vital tool for astrophoto
processing, so there is some relavance to the whole of us having working
virus protection).  I have received a lot of ideas from the list members
about my Norton's problem and have acted on all of them.  I even ran the web
based HouseCall virus scan on antivirus.com.  It found nothing thankfully.
So a big thanks to those who replied and offered suggestions.  However, the
Live Update problem persists and I have resigned myself to nuking the HD and
starting over with a fresh PC this weekend.  Yikes!  Its like lobotomizing
an old friend!
