Re: [APML] TP Pre Rinse
I grew up presoaking my film. Starting waaaaay back in the days of high
school photo lab and using Panatomic-X. We were told the anti-halation
backing needed to be dissolved before developing and in some cases, a bluish
tinge could be seen as the rinse was poured off.
As a habit, I load my film (mostly 35mm nowadays) into the tanks while
everything is dry, hands, tanks, darkroom, etc.. After handling the film is
completed, I then fill the tanks with tapwater (chlorine and all:-) and let
them soak while I set up the developer, stop and fix in large plastic cups.
Once everything is ready to go, I dump the rinse and start processing. Air
bels, reticulation, and blotchyness have never been a problem.
