Re: [APML] Fw: images from science
Interesting OT variation on this theme: I got an e-mail recently from a
nonprofit organization of shipping companies requesting permission to use
one of my pictures of dolphins. This is a very heavily subsidized group
doing lobbying, etc, for commercial shipping companies, but they wanted free
use because they, technically, were non-profit. I said that since they were
working for commercial users, they should pay a small fee ($25). They
refused to pay and so we parted amicably (I *assume* they're not going to
pirate the image). Just seemed rather cheap on their part---cruising the net
looking for free images.
