Its not so much about you deriving income but what income
your client is going to derive. I have donated many images
free of charge to not-for-profit entities. On the other
hand if someone is going to make money off my images, I
want a cut. ALWAYS find out how much they intend to profit.

If you want, check out the copyright statement on my 
web page, it has worked out quite well in the past. I
have received offers totaling tens of thousands of 
dollars with this statement. 

If we all give our images away for free the value of
astrophotos goes down for all of us.
