Hi Shekhar--I don't believe the ground straps would make any difference--the
electrostatic charge is formed by the film surfaces sliding against one another
and this will occur whether or not you have the ground strap on.

I have taken to rewinding my film verrry slowly inside the camera to avoid
discharges. In fact I often wait to rewind until I get home from a place like
Chews Ridge--its  a bit more humid down here near the bay.

Shots ruined by ESD from rapidly rewinding my film after an evening of shooting
had zig zag patterns rather than crescents. I can probably find an example if
someone is interested.
