Steve:
Others have already given you advice but if you are seeing "little crescents"
on your 120 film, the source is not static discharge but physical damage.
I've shot and processed hundreds of rolls of 120 film (including hypered Tech
Pan) and the biggest problem is handling the film so you don't ever 'crimp'
it or bend it sharply at a given point. Doing so results in what is usually
called 'moons'.
The less you have to handle film the better and this goes for hypering too.
The best way to hyper 120 film is to load it on a processing reel, without
the backing as this ensures even dessication and hypering, but it increases
the possibility of physical damage. The next best way is to unroll the film
loosely from the backing, but leave the backing attached at the tape point.
After hypering, re-roll the backing.
