Well... I'm pretty much fed up with M51 by now! : -
) But it did bring up an interesting problem that the PS gurus might
want to take a shot at... namely:
There seems to be two ways to get an
LRBG... you can either turn the RGB into Lab color (slight loss of data from
what I have read) and copy the L to the clipboard... select the L channel of the
RGB and paste it in...and then return to RGB...
or you can go the layers route where you keep the
RGB intact, turn it into a layer, turn the L into a layer, and drag the layer
icon of the L on top of the RGB choosing the "luminosity" mode of combining.
Both these techniques assume that you have registered the images
beforehand.
I notice a slight difference in the
end results, mostly of density... would anyone want to comment on the preference
of one method over the other?
