Hello APML:
Does anyone know the brand of grease to be used on
the draw tube of the 2.7-inch Astro-Physics refractors? When I got my
Astro-Physics EDF refractors several years ago they had a grease on the
rack and pinion gear that was less viscous than the grease on the draw
tube. The grease on the draw tube was a very sticky grease.
The grease on the draw tube is gone now and the focuser is stiff, even
after adjusting the rack and pinion block as per Astro-Physics web
page.
