Re: [APML] OT: Southern California Sites

Tony;
    I think that there is some kind of conspiracy here from the Canadian Meteorological Centre, slowly and quietly setting up observation spots across North America. :-) I have been using this service for a year or so, and have found them to be more accurate than the local weather office - especially on the transparency end of things. I can't speak for forecast accuracy in the U.S., but they are pretty close in western Canada. Later this year they are planning to increase forecast resolution to 1 hour from the current 3 hour resolution. I am somewhat envious of your predictions - 2 straight days of clear skies! I rarely see that here in Southern Alberta. Last night was "white" on the charts, which in reality was a spring blizzard with 60Km winds, zero visibility and 4-5 inches of snow. But the transparency forecast was accurate...
    Not to make you feel paranoid Tony, but SOMEONE requested Foresthill be put on the map. Somebody is keeping an eye on your skies.....

Marty,

    WOW... as in Holy Smokes... where did you find that "clear sky" clocks... that's amazing... what's even MORE amazing, is one of the places they monitor is FORESTHILL !!!  That's the tiny little town next to where I live... why would they have that? Maybe it's the dark skies or something...  unreal....
