[APML] 10K rpm drives (Was: pentium vs athlon)

I got a Adaptec 2930U2 SCSI card from CDW.com for $229. It is fully
compatible with all the different SCSI standards and the card is actually
split into two different circuits (one for Ultra SCSI and lower and one for
the faster LVD devices). This is very handy for me because I have a SCSI
CD-ROM burner. If the bandwidth was shared I may not be able to burn at 8X.

I was pretty close $550 or so.

>This was an IBM 9g SCSI-2 hard drive at 10k rpm, very loud!..
The Seagate is not too bad but definitely louder than my 5700rpm IDE drive.
