[APML] ST-4 with a Lumicon 2.5X CCD Telecompressor
Good Evening,
I have searched through the archives and have found little on the subject of
using a Lumicon 2.5X CCD telecompressor for a long focal length SCT with a
GEG (other than some good advice by Wil Milan). I am using a CG-11 with a
Lumicon GEG and often see lot's of "E's" when guiding with an ST-4. The
seeing in Binghamton is usually pretty poor. I am guiding at ~F/10-F/11 and
imaging at F/7.5 (lens behind the prism). As you may already know, guiding
with "flying seagulls" sometimes plays havoc with the ST-4. I often don't
get the tracking that I like.
Does anyone else know about /or have used a Lumicon 2.5X CCD telecompressor
with their ST-4 to improve guiding performance. Will this help out my
situation?
TIA
Tony P.
