[APML] Film developing
It seems that all my lunar shots are overexposed when I get them back from
the 1 hour photo shop. Last night I took multiple shots of the moon at
exposures ranging from 1/8 to 1/500 and ALL of them came back overexposed
from the developer! One frame came out with a pure black background, the
shutter was 1/30 (overexposed), but had a pure black background. I just
don't understand how a 1/250-1/500 would have been overexposed. The rest
were all with that greyish-green background. I've studied the negatives and
many look to have sharp detail and not overexposed. I have explained to the
guy (numerous times) that the pictures should have a fairly dark (almost
black to black) background. He says he knows and will adjust his
equipment. I just can't believe how a crescent moon shot with 100 speed
film and a 1/500" shutter will be overexposed by the camera. The camera is
definitely not the problem. A roll of regular (terrestrial) shots were
fine. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm going to take the negatives to a
different place and have them printed again.
Thanks,
rG
