The "Double Cluster" in Perseus (NGC 869/884) is a favorite object of mine and I have used every lens and telescope I own to take pictures of it. The shot I like the best is a 30-minute exposure at the prime focus of a 100mm f/5 Televue Genesis APO refractor piggybacked to a Meade 10" SCT. Guiding was done manually using the 10" as the guidescope. This photo was taken during the new-moon of July, 1995.
I've made two images of this photo available. The first one is a full frame image in all it's 4.5 degree glory! This image is also available in a high-res version (1024x688x24bit JPG 230k).
The second image has been cropped, but at a higher resolution, to bring out more detail in the cluster.
As with the first version... this image is available in a low-res version (640x480x24bit JPG 124k) and a high-res version (1024x768x24bit JPG 234k).
