ANDY STEERE'S
ASTROPHOTO PAGE

---

As a photographer... I've always been fascinated by taking pictures with my telescopes. This, more than anything else, is what keeps up my interest in astronomy. I am a visual person and don't get into the mathmatics of the cosmos... I leave that task to those who enjoy it.

The night sky offers many splendid vistas. Here are but a few examples of what I have done with limited means:

*THE SUMMER TRIANGLE* THE SUMMER TRIANGLENEW!

*COMET HYAKUTAKE* COMET HYAKUTAKE (1996-B2)

*M20/M8* THE SKY AROUND M20 AND M8

*THE DUMBELL NEBULA* M27 - THE DUMBELL NEBULANEW!

*DENEB* THE SKY AROUND DENEB

*DOUBLE CLUSTER* THE "DOUBLE CLUSTER"

*M42 ORION NEBULA* M42 - THE GREAT ORION NEBULA

*M16 EAGLE NEBULA* M16 - THE EAGLE NEBULA

*11/95 LUNAR ECLIPSE* LUNAR ECLIPSE - November 1993

*MY TELESCOPE* MY TELESCOPES NEW!

PHOTO INFORMATION

These images were produced by taking some 4"x6" prints I had laying around and scanning them in with a HP 3C scanner. The resulting 10MB TIFF files received some minor touchups to remove scanning artifacts, were gamma-corrected to match the photos, and reduced to managable sizes.

AND YOU THOUGHT FILM WAS DEAD! :-)
